Financial Applications of MPC
Abstract: Multi-party computation (MPC) is a branch of cryptography that allows a set of parties to perform computation on their inputs while keeping them private. MPC appeared in the 80’s as a pure theoretical work, and moved from theory to practice in recent years. Many applications nowadays can benefit from MPC, among which the financial sector. In this presentation, we will go through a set of financial applications for MPC, where we demonstrate how we can perform them in a privacy preserving manner, and in particular, that MPC is ready to be deployed in the financial sector satisfying strong security guarantees.
Bio: Younes Talibi Alaoui received his PhD from university of KULeuven (Belgium) in 2023, during which he worked on financial applications for MPC and distributing elliptic curve based protocols. Prior to his PhD, he received his Masters of Mathematics and Cryptology from university of Limoges (France) in 2017 and worked as a security engineer at the beginning of 2018. Prior to his Masters, he received his Bachelor degree of Applied Mathematics from university of Rabat (Morocco) in 2015.
